SWEET
EASTER
With
the arrival of Spring, March 27th., comes Easter.
Easter
brings sweet thoughts of delicious chocolate Easter
eggs, both dark and milk chocolate, as well as the small
colorful Easter eggs.
Its
the season of springtime colors, of baskets overflowing
with chocolates and Easter eggs.
The
big chocolate Easter egg takes first prize with our
maestri bakers. They cover and decorate
the big eggs with very fine chocolate creating marvelous
compositions, incredibly delicious and with a surprise
gift inside! Or if you wish to give a wonderful gift
to someone special, bring it in and our master bakers
will insert it into the egg!
Last
year a generous gentleman had us insert the key to a
new car in one of our eggs! Others, more romantic, chose
a necklace or an engagement ring. Remember that a gift
received in an Easter egg cannot be exchanged.
But
Easter is not only for Easter eggs, its also for
the Easter cake called la Colomba which
is perhaps the most important sweet of the Easter season.
Its a soft raising yeast cake with candied oragne
peel and covered with granular sugar and almonds. Its
heavenly just as it is but we also make it covered with
a fine chocolate glaze and a cream or chocolate filling.
Out of this world!
